Purpose

The purpose is to bring together colleagues who have a common bond of service in the teaching, research, extension and student support responsibilities of South Dakota State University. It is intended for the mutual benefit of its members and the University. In general, the objectives of the Association include the encouragement of continuing participation in University activities, service to the university, expression of common concerns and continued interests. 

The by-laws posted on this website provide further details about purposes.

Membership

The term “faculty” in the By-laws is intended to include all professional personnel who retire from South Dakota State University. Membership is automatically open to these retirees.

Meetings

The association typically holds a luncheon meeting twice annually, once in the fall and once in the spring. Meetings generally last one and a half hours and include a program and business meeting.
