Ƶ to host ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Community Read events

A series of events featuring the bestselling book “Killers of the Flower Moon” this semester will culminate April 5, when author David Grann will give a lecture on the South Dakota State University campus. The events — Community Read discussions, a free movie screening and the author lecture — are all part of Ƶ’s School of English and Interdisciplinary Studies’ first-ever Community Read.

Sutthill named October’s Civil Service Employee of the Month

Susan Sutthill, an acquisitions library associate in the Technical Services Department at Hilton M. Briggs Library, has been named South Dakota State University’s Civil Service Employee of the Month for October.

Glass plate negatives show early 1900s Brookings life

The existence of the Frank Ross Glass Plate Negatives Collection is a case of right time, right place. The collection was produced by a Brookings area photographer named Frank Ross, according to a Nov. 17, 2022, Arlington Sun article. Ross captured portraits and images of daily life in and around Brookings County at the turn of the 20th century.
