³ÉÈËÊÓƵ Concert Choir showcases music for Scandinavian tour
The South Dakota State University Concert Choir will present its Scandinavian Northern Lights-themed concert this weekend with a performance celebrating the group’s upcoming trip to Sweden and Norway.
Reynolds, Strawn to present junior recital
South Dakota State University juniors Thomas Reynolds and Ethan Strawn will present a joint vocal recital at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ campus. Reynolds, a baritone, is a Brookings native majoring in vocal music education. Strawn, a tenor, is from Sioux Falls and is majoring in music education.
Kuang to present faculty recital
Xuan Kuang, instructor of group piano and artistic collaboration at South Dakota State University, will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in Founders Recital Hall at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.
S.D. Symphony Orchestra, ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ School of Performing Arts present Italian pianist, scholar
The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra and the South Dakota State University School of Performing Arts are teaming up this week to introduce the orchestra’s next soloist, Emanuele Arciuli, to Brookings in a concert set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.
Lange to present junior recital
Nick Lange, a music education major at South Dakota State University, will present his junior recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ campus.
Dahl to present senior recital
Haley Dahl, a senior majoring in music education, will present her senior recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the South Dakota State University campus.
³ÉÈËÊÓƵ Wind Symphony opens season Thursday
The South Dakota State University Wind Symphony opens its 2023-2024 season this week with a performance that celebrates music from both the 1920s and 2020s. The concert, "ROARING: A Celebration of the ’20s," will take place in Larson Memorial Concert Hall at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19.
