South Dakota State University commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2024 will be held May 4 at the Dacotah Bank Center in Brookings. The move from campus is due to construction in Frost Arena as that facility continues its transformation into First Bank & Trust Arena.

Seven members of the professional staff at South Dakota State University have been honored for their quality work. The recipients were honored at the ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ Professional Staff Advisory Council annual meeting in mid-May.
Regents, DOE authorize new elementary, special education programs at ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ
The South Dakota Board of Regents approved requests by South Dakota State University on May 9 to add two new academic programs in elementary education and special education. The programs were then approved by the South Dakota Department of Education, May 22 so they may officially launch next fall.
³ÉÈËÊÓƵ faculty recognized for excellence
The annual South Dakota State University Celebration of Faculty Excellence recognized 25 faculty members, researchers and scientists Tuesday. The event honors faculty members in the university's colleges for outstanding research, teaching and service.
Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize in Education Winners Announced
The 2022 winners of the prestigious Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize in Education were announced today by the McGraw Family Foundation and the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. Cheryl Logan, Barry Dunn and Roy Pea — three leaders in the field doing groundbreaking work in pre-K–12 classrooms, on university campuses and in learning science research, respectively — are being recognized for their extraordinary achievements. Each winner will receive an award of $50,000 and an iconic awards sculpture.

South Dakota State University was ranked No. 2 in Intelligent.com’s rankings for Best Master’s in Data Science Degree Programs of 2022. In addition, ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ was cited for having the best online program.
Anand honored for teaching excellence
Anand honored for teaching excellence. Anand received the North Central Region for 2021 Excellence in College and University Teaching Awards for Food and Agricultural Sciences by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities. He receives $2,000 to be used for improving teaching at ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ.
