Brookings, home to South Dakota State University, is the second most affordable college town in the U.S., according to a WalletHub study. In WalletHub鈥檚 鈥2025 Best College Towns in America,鈥 factors including housing costs, cost of higher education and student loan debt per person, among others, were considered.
Avera Wokini Scholarship program going strong
Established in 2018, the Avera Wokini Scholarship provides $5,000 annual scholarships to selected students at South Dakota State University who are enrolled members of federally recognized tribes and pursuing a degree in the health care field. The scholarship is renewable for up to five years.
