In-state tuition for Minnesota residents makes ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ best value among peer institutions
When the South Dakota Board of Regents extended the South Dakota Advantage tuition rate to Minnesota residents in December 2023, it made ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ the best value for Minnesota residents among its peer institutions in Minnesota. South Dakota Advantage will offer in-state tuition to Minnesota residents enrolling as new students at ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ starting summer 2024.
Lecture to address using vaccines to combat cancer
A renowned researcher from Mayo Clinic will share how vaccines can be used to combat cancer at a free lecture Monday, April 8. The 11th annual Francis Miller Public Lecture in Cancer Research will be delivered by Keith Knutson at 7 p.m. in Herold Crest Room (253C) in the University Student Union on the South Dakota State University campus. It is sponsored by the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. The talk is geared toward the general public, the college reports.
Athletic training advocacy leads to licensure law change
The career possibilities for athletic trainers in South Dakota are expanding thanks to the efforts of a South Dakota State University clinical assistant professor. Educating future athletic trainers in the ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ School of Health and Consumer Sciences and serving as the president of the South Dakota Athletic Trainers’ Association, Mary Beth Zwart has made an impact on the profession and on her students.

Pravecek earns College of Nursing's Outstanding Researcher Award
Brandi Pravecek, a clinical assistant professor in South Dakota State University's College of Nursing, was named the college's Outstanding Researcher for 2023. It is the first time Pravecek has won the award.
Olson’s impact on ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ College of Nursing continues
Roberta Olson is a 1964 South Dakota State University nursing graduate, and it would be 30 years following her undergraduate graduation before she returned to campus to serve as dean of the College of Nursing. The college saw significant changes and growth during Olson’s 20-year tenure as dean, and her impact continues today, with a financial commitment announced last fall to endow the position she used to hold.
