Logo Use Guidelines

For sizing guidelines, the SD must be reproduced to no smaller than 1” in height. Minimum 3/16” of clear space on all sides must be left between the logo and any other element.

The logo should always be placed on a one-color, high contrast / non-patterned background. When using mark on a dark background, the outlined version of the SD needs to be used.

Correct Use

Good contrast between background and logo

The Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center Sub-Brand Collateral

TThe Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center with SD logo with blue text

South Dakota State University sub-branded marketing materials must use the sub-branded logo, which is made up of The Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center logo, the South Dakota State University wordmark and primary SD logo.

For The Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center focused collateral the ‘O’ framing graphic element can be used.

The ‘O’ should only be placed in either the bottom left corner or the top right corner. This placement allows for the ‘O’ to be placed in such a way that it blends seemlessly with the framing element.

  • The frame should always have rounded corners. The radius of the corners may vary depending on the size and shape of the frame.
  • The frame can be a square or rectangle.
  • When the ‘O’ is placed in the top right corner you need to ‘cut out’ a small piece of the frame that intersects the ‘O’.

University Co-Branding with a Sub-Brand

When branding for an Ƶ department or school event, the branding should reflect 80% Ƶ brand standards and 20% sub-brand standards. Use the Ƶ primary brand colors for 80% of the design. The primary logo is the university unit lockup and the secondary logo is the sub-brand logo. The hierarchy of logos is established by the primary logo always to the left of the secondary logo.
