The Bread Cabinet (11/3/21)

work

Who can resist the mouth-watering smell of fresh bread, cakes and pies! This overgrown bread box keeps the flies and other airborne pest from sampling the goodies. The door of this galvanized steel cabinet sits on a kitchen cabinet and opens to reveal two shelves for storing bread, cakes, pies and pastries. Various spots on the cabinet have concentric rings of air circulation holes. The label on the door reads “The Home Comfort Co. St. Paul, Minn. Home Comfort Bread and Cake Cabinet Patented No. 757282.” The first patent for the bread and cake closet was issued in 1904 to Henry W. Diers, River Falls, Wisconsin.
