No waiting for the school bus when you have a pony buggy to take you to classes! Adolph and Martha Johnson from Hartford purchased the buggy and a pony named Bonnie to transport the four youngest children – John, Robert, Don and Nila to Grand Meadow School District 91, a one room schoolhouse. Even though the buggy seat could hold three, when four of the kids rode in the buggy, two were on the seat and two kneeled in the box.

The spindle backed pony buggy is black and has red wheels and tongue. The seat and back are upholstered with black leather.
