During the cold of late winter, gardeners begin planning their gardens and buying seeds. When sunshine and mild temperatures arrive, gardeners are ready to get their hands in the soil. This has been true for many generations. This ca. 1910-1930 seed packet has a colorful bunch of petunias lithographed on a yellow background. Lithograph companies used to carry an inventory of preprinted seed packets with no company name or specific seed identification. Seed companies, hardware stores or anyone wishing to sell seed for the current season could order packets with their business information on the front and planting information printed on back.
