³ÉÈËÊÓƵ's Innovate SoDak earns additional funding from EDA
South Dakota State University's Innovate SoDak—a product of the United States Economic Development Administration’s University Center program—has received an additional five-year, $145,000 per year grant from the program to continue serving industry clients and supporting economic growth in the state.
Kuehl selected as J.P. Hendrickson Faculty Scholar, Herbert Cheever Jr. Liberal Arts lecturer
Rebecca Kuehl, associate academic director and professor in the South Dakota State University School of Communication and Journalism, has been selected as the J.P. Hendrickson Liberal Arts Faculty Scholar and will deliver the Herbert Cheever Jr. lecture at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Minneapolis-based organist Samuel Backman will be featured on the Founders Recital Hall organ at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center for the second concert in the Brookings Chamber Music Society series.

Viaflex Room in Crothers Engineering Hall
In South Dakota State University's Crothers Engineering Hall, Room 351 is officially known as the "Viaflex Room" after the Sioux Falls-based company entered into a sponsorship agreement. One of the country's leading designers and manufacturers of innovative polymer solutions, Viaflex is a relatively new company after spinning off from Raven Industries. Beyond the Viaflex Room, the company is also sponsoring research within the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering and is one of the primary sponsors of the new Concrete Industry Management program.

Knee injuries, particularly ACL and meniscus tears, are extremely common, especially in athletes who participate in contact sports like football, basketball and soccer. A serious tear will leave athletes out of the sport for months and will almost always require surgery and extensive rehabilitation.
