Important Fall 2024 Dates

• August 2-3: Summer to Fall transitions. Must be checked out of Summer housing by August 3 at noon
• August 23: Meet State (New Students and New Transfer Students) 8 a.m.-3 p.m.  
• August 24: Returner Move-In 9 a.m.-1 p.m. 
• September 14: Southeast University Neighborhood Open House (11 a.m.-1 p.m.) 
• October 8: New Students for 2025-2026 Housing Application Opens (new admits only)
• October 14: Community Assistant Application Opens for 2025-2026 Academic Year 
• October 14: Summer Staff Application Opens for Summer 2025
• October 16: Southeast University Neighborhood Open House from 6-8 p.m. 
• November 12: Off Campus Housing Fair in the University Student Union (11 a.m.-2 p.m.) 
• December 2: Winter Break/Late Stay/Early Return Application Opens at 10 a.m.
• December 16: Winter Break/Late Stay Application Due by Noon
• December 18: Halls Close for Winter Break at 7 p.m.

Important Spring 2025 Dates

• December 26: Early Return for Spring Semester Application Due by noon
• January 12: Halls Open for Spring Semester at 10 a.m.
• January 17: Community Assistant applications due for fall and summer  
• January 28: 2025-2026 Returner Student Housing Application Opens at 10 a.m.
• February 18: Spring Break Application Opens
• February 19: Southeast University Neighborhood Open House from 6-8 p.m.
• March 5: Spring Break Application Due at noon
• March 7: Halls Close for Spring Break at 5 p.m.  
• March 16: Halls Open after Spring Break at noon  
• April 1: Summer Housing/Late Stay Application opens at 10 a.m. 
• April 25: Summer Housing/Late Stay Priority Deadline at noon
• May 9: Halls Close for the Year at 7 p.m.
• May 16-17: Spring to Summer transitions. Must be checked out of Spring assignment by May 17 at noon.

*Students needing to stay during the break periods will need to apply for break housing. Current residents who are participating in graduation will not be charged for break housing in May. Exceptions can be made to opening and closing time due to inclement weather, travel or other circumstances. If you have questions regarding this please contact the Housing and Residential Life Office.

Break Stay Applications:

All Break Stay/Late Stay/Early Return Applications will be found in the Housing Portal. The Housing Portal can be accessed by residents through the following pathway:

MyState-->Dashboard-->Forms-->University Housing Application-->Login--> Select Break Housing Application

Residents must have an approved break application to maintain housing and card access during closed periods.

Room Changes:

Housing and Residential Life facilitates room change periods throughout the academic year. Residents will receive emails about the room change process. However, any resident saving roommate difficulties is encouraged to talk to their Community Assistant or Residence Hall Director. Residents should not move themselves to other spaces without written approval from Housing and Residential Life staff.
