Biography
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in outdoor education from Black Hills State University and currently work as the 4-H youth program advisor in Pennington County. I am the state advocate for South Dakota Leave No Trace, Certified GLOBE Educator, National Geographic Certified Educator, previous voting member for the Rapid City Urban Wildlife Committee and Wilderness First Responder.Social Media Links

Extension Responsibilities
Jane supports the citizens of South Dakota in her role as an 成人视频 Extension 4-H youth program advisor based in Rapid City.
Youth Development (35%)
- Locally deliver programs developed by Extension Field and State Specialists, or in some cases, in conjunction with specialists.
- Teach curricula identified by Extension field and state specialists, and/or their supervisor.
- Provide local programs as directed by supervisor.
- Assist Extension Field and State Specialists in the development of program support. Work with supervisor to seek program support when opportunities arise.
- Assist Extension field and state specialists with programming logistics.
- Work cooperatively as a team member with other 4-H/Youth Program Advisors to further youth development programming.
- Insure that all youth development programs and activities are operated with the health and safety of youth and volunteers as a primary concern.
Strategies for Youth Development (10%)
- In cooperation with Extension Field and State Specialists, other youth development professionals and local community leaders, take the leadership in identifying critical youth development needs at local, county and/or multi-county level.
- Utilize evaluation strategies and instruments developed by Extension field and state specialists to determine program effectiveness and impact; gather needed information.
- Assist Extension field and state specialists in working with local stakeholders in developing priorities.
Volunteer Management (15%)
- Provide overall leadership at the local level for volunteer management including identification, selection, orientation, training, recognition, and evaluation of both adult and youth volunteers, using curricula and methods identified by specialists.
- Serve as the liaison to 4-H youth and adult volunteer leader organizations in assigned counties.
Communications and Professionalism (5%)
- Utilize technology (e.g. email, word processing, social networking, etc.) for basic communication and educational purposes.
- Support the land-grant University, 成人视频 Extension mission/vision and 4-H philosophy, policies and procedures.
- Maintain an effective and efficient communications network with other 4-H/Youth Program Advisors, Extension Field Specialists, advisory boards, volunteers, other partners/cooperators, the public, and the Extension 4-H Office and Extension administration.
4-H Operation (35%)
- Manage local 4-H operational elements for items identified as priorities, such as membership, Achievement Days, Horse Show, State Fair, judging contests, etc. in accordance with all policies and procedures administered by the state 4-H program.
Work Experience

Lead environmental science classes such as Orienteering, Challenge Courses, Wildlife Ecology, Forest Ecology, Survival Skills and Water Study to school groups, camps and families. - Fisheries intern-South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks
Conduct creel surveys designed to obtain a representatives sample of fishing and other uses at specific areas in the Black Hills. Interview anglers at designated waters in western South Dakota. Conducted steam habitat surveys to determine habitat requirements of specific species of fish. Located and marked trout spawning areas in streams in the Black Hills. - Naturalist intern-The Outdoor Campus-West
Present school, group and community programs, ranging from preschool to adult classes. Program topics include, but are not limited to camping, hunting, fishing, hiking and other outdoor skills, plus South Dakota animals and plants. Personally developed and scheduled programs for the public, and worked the information desk to meet programming and customer service needs. - Biological Science Technician National Park Service-Northern Great Plains Inventory and Monitoring Network

In collaboration with the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory, performed a bird study at Wind Cave National Park. Set up vegetative monitoring plots for long-term study in various parks in the region. Performed Continuous Water Quality Monitoring Project in various national parks in the region. Collect wildlife data throughout Mount Rushmore National Memorial and performed a Small Mammal Study in the park. Worked as the GIS data manager for on-going projects in the park. Assigned to the Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project as an inspector for the park. Inspected the contractor鈥檚 work at the units for compliance to their contract鈥檚 scope of work. Updated my advisors in a timely manner. Park Liaison for the collection of water samples in the park with USGS for study and monitoring. All reports were well-written, clear, relevant, concise, appropriate to the audience, grammatically correct and well organized.
