  1. Attain academic excellence.
    1. Increase and sustain the number of accredited and certified programs.
    2. Develop and grow high-quality and distinct academic programs designed to meet the needs of diverse students and market demands.
    3. Increase programs offered that use a diversity of delivery methods, times (or scheduling) and locations.
    4. Promote active and innovative teaching, learning and advising practices.
    5. Incorporate and assess cross-curricular skills into academic and co-curricular endeavors.
  2. Affirm student success as a foundational university priority.
    1. Update the student success model to more directly focus on high-impact practices.
    2. Identify and address gaps and streamline facilities, technology and personnel to advance student-success efforts and outcomes.
    3. Ensure student success of underrepresented populations through the establishment and continuation of programming and initiatives focused on access.
  3. Increase recruitment, retention and graduation of professionally prepared global citizens.
    1. Achieve strategic enrollment targets by implementing the strategic enrollment management plan, that will include strategies for at-risk and diverse student success. 
    2. Develop and enhance key retention and persistence programs that facilitate the development of skills in intercultural engagement, global citizenry and international relationships.

³ÉÈËÊÓƵ to lead $1.545 million BREATHE-SD project, partner with area hospitals

South Dakota State University is partnering with hospitals in Brookings, Huron and Madison to expand the public health and respiratory therapy workforce. The Community Practice Innovation Center within the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions at ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ has received a three-year, $1.545 million federal grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration.

Sanford Sponsorships Available to Students in the Growing ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ Respiratory Care Program

Beginning in the 2022-2023 academic year, Sanford will commit to sponsorships for up to 24 students in the Respiratory Care program at South Dakota State University. This is the next step in a pilot program that began in 2020 but has previously only been open to students based in Sioux Falls. Now all ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ Respiratory Care students are eligible to receive the Sanford sponsorships.

Monument Health Provides Scholarship and Sign-on Bonus Opportunities to ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ Respiratory Care Students

Monument Health’s Respiratory Care program is offering scholarships and sign-on bonuses, which are available to students in the South Dakota State University Respiratory Care program.
