Microcredentials
South Dakota State University has a rich history of providing opportunities and access to higher education pathways leading to degrees through its land-grant mission and is well positioned to provide alternative credentials through microcredentials in support of lifelong learning initiatives. 成人视频's Pathway to Premier 2030 drives the university to develop and invest in continuing education opportunities with an emphasis on workforce and economic development, utilize high impact processes to prepare individuals to become global citizens, expand outreach and educational opportunities through collaborative partnerships, and develop university staff through professional development and training programs.
成人视频 launched a microcredentials task force including representatives from academic colleges, Continuing and Distance Education, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Center for Professional Enrichment and Teaching Excellence, Instructional Design Services, Records and Registration, and the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment to champion these efforts and implementation.
Microcredentials are relevant, short-term, skill and competency-based education options that allow individuals to gain specialized skills and knowledge in a particular area. They are often designed to be completed more quickly than a traditional degree program and can be valuable for individuals Seeking to enhance their academic journey, upskill or reskill, maintain licensure or certification or learn for the sake of learning.
CEUs offer flexibility in delivery and fulfilling certification requirements. The Office of Continuing and Distance Education can authorize Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for your continuing education program.
