Dr. Mohan, along with her students, exhibits an unwavering enthusiasm for participating in a diverse range of events organized by ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ and other organizations. Their dedication and efforts have been recognized through numerous awards and honors.

  • Dr. Mohan received ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ Faculty Award for Global Engagement, International Education and Student Engagement 2024
  • American Dairy Science Association Foundation Scholar in Dairy Foods Award 2023
  • Brain Gain scheme fellowship by Kerala State higher Education Council, India in association with Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (2022).
  • Lincoln University (NZ) Teaching Excellence Award – Early Career (2019–2020)
  • Outstanding Volunteer Award, Institute of Food Technologists Dairy Foods Division (2013–2014)
  • First place Dairy Foods: Graduate student Oral presentation competition, ADSA meeting (2013–2014)
  • Edlong Dairy Flavors scholarship award in association with IFT (2012–2014)
  • Second place Midwest Regional, IFT Student Association College Bowl competition, part of UT team (2011–2014)
  • International Dairy Foods Association IDFA/DREF Dairy Industry Graduate Scholarship award (2010-2013)
  • Shijas, Shafeeqa, Ifra, and Ting were selected as the 2024 South Dakota dairy ambassadors.
  • Ifra, Shafeeqa, and Akshit were selected for the 2024 Science communication fellowship. Ifra and Shafeeqa presented their research at the South Dakota Discovery Centre, Pierre as part of their science communication fellowship program -

  • Ifra received the UMDIA scholarship 2024.
  • Shafeeqa has received the MN IFT Graduate Scholarship and Travel Awards 2023-24.
  • Akshit received the MN IFT Graduate Scholarship 2023-24.
  • Akshit is an active player in the ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ men's club volleyball team and their team has won the 2024 championship.
  • In the 2024 Dairy product judging competition held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ifra achieved first place for both yogurt and butter, and secured third place in the Cheddar cheese category.
  • Ting received 2024 ADSA travel grant.
  • Akshit received First prize in the IFT Dairy Food Division, Graduate Student Oral Competition 2024.
  • Akshit got his master's degree from Dr. Mohan's lab. His thesis was on nanobubble technology: properties in water, model milk protein solution, and dairy processing wastewater streams.
  • Ting received the John Brandt Memorial Scholarship from the Land O'Lakes Foundation, which awarded $20,000.
