Biography
I am an Agronomist passionate about plant nutrition and soil science. During my bachelor at University of São Paulo, Brazil, I was awarded three years of undergraduate research scholarship to conduct research in with specialty fertilizers. I conducted experiments with citrus and coffee, as well as cucumber plants, and I was able to learn how to apply X Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy techniques to evaluate the plant nutrient status. I also had the opportunity to be an undergraduate teaching assistant of the Plant Nutrition course.
Currently, I am a Master’s student in the Agronomy, Horticulture and Plant Science Department at South Dakota State University, working under Dr. Vander Nunes. My research is focused on soil fertility and free-living nitrogen fixation in sustainable agricultural systems. I aspire to contribute to the understanding of how sustainable practices can improve soil fertility and bring benefits to the farmers.
