
Marissa Trosen
Director of Respiratory Care Program/Instructor
Biography
Marissa is the program director for South Dakota State University’s Respiratory Care program. Prior to this role, she was the program's director of clinical education. Marissa graduated from Dakota State University with her associate degree in respiratory care in 2013 followed by her bachelor’s degree in 2014. In 2021, she earned her Master of Public Health degree from South Dakota State University, and in 2024, she was admitted to Northeastern University where she is currently pursuing her Doctor of Medical Science in healthcare leadership degree. Marissa has over a decade of work experience in a rural critical access hospital where she directly cared for patients in all continuums of care. She also has experience in healthcare leadership where she was responsible for quality improvement, laboratory, radiology, therapy services and respiratory care. Marissa serves on the South Dakota Society for Respiratory Care Board of Directors as the director at-large and the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners. In her spare time, Marissa enjoys spending time with family and traveling, and she enjoys all things volleyball.
