Susan has a background in early childhood education and teaching and learning in higher education. She uses this background in her work developing and editing curriculum to be delivered to childcare providers across the state. Her primary responsibilities involve working with the Ongoing Health and Safety Training Series and the Quality Care South Dakota Curriculum. She also works with institutions of higher education across the state of South Dakota to create pathways for individuals with a child development associate credential to articulate into early childhood education programs to further their professional development. Susan's experience as a parent, a family day care provider, preschool teacher, Head Start coordinator and childcare program director provides her the opportunity to share information and examples from a variety of perspectives. Susan is committed to using her knowledge and skills to ensure that quality information and resources are available to those who are caring for South Dakota's children.
