Jackrabbits in all 50 states and across 15 countries united to tackle historic philanthropy on Sept. 5 during One Day for STATE. 
 
The South Dakota State University Foundation’s eighth annual giving day celebrated all things ������Ƶ and the impact that can be made through private gifts. 

In 24 hours, 6,068 donors united to raise $2,757,790 from 7,172 gifts to transform lives at ������Ƶ, supporting funds for over 110 different causes, including scholarships, research, academic programming, athletics and many more. 

One Day for STATE aimed to rally alumni, faculty, staff, parents, current students and friends in support of ������Ƶ. Of the 6,068 donors, 655 identified as faculty and 555 as students, demonstrating the One Day for STATE excitement that starts right on campus. 

“Every day is a great day to be a Jackrabbit, but One Day for STATE is an absolute favorite of ours at the ������Ƶ Foundation,” said Erin Glidden, ������Ƶ Foundation associate vice president of pipeline strategy. “It’s incredible to witness how the campus and the community work together to exceed expectations, year after year.” 

The celebration culminated with the community favorite Yellow and Blue Block Party. The festivities featured all the classics for the party’s lineup: performances by The Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band followed by the ������Ƶ cheerleading and dance teams, along with food trucks, free ������Ƶ ice cream, kids’ activities and more. 

The success of One Day for STATE would not have been possible without support from the yellow and blue community, near and far. Whether they gave a gift, donated their time and talents, or simply celebrated State on Sept. 5, supporters truly made a difference. For the eighth consecutive year, the Jackrabbits family proved there’s nothing it can’t do when it works together.
