James K. 鈥淭ex鈥 Lewis was a professor of animal and range sciences at South Dakota State University from 1950 to 1985. The collection comprises his work in teaching and research in range management and range livestock nutrition. It includes studies and projects conducted primarily at the Cottonwood Range Field Station, Antelope Range Field Station and the Badlands region of South Dakota. The materials cover various topics such as cattle weights, clip plot data analysis, soil moisture samples and utilization studies. They also demonstrate collaborative efforts with prominent organizations.
