The new knowledge created from our research enhances the quality of life in South Dakota through the beneficial use and development of human, economic and natural resources. Our research mission is one of the cornerstones of a land grant university. The College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences magazine, Growing South Dakota, releases an annual Agricultural Experiment Station research report.
A South Dakota State University College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences research team was recently awarded an $80 million U.S. Department of Agriculture Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities Initiative grant. The project title is, 鈥淭he Grass is Greener on the Other Side: Developing Climate-Smart Beef and Bison Commodities.鈥 The long-term goal of this five-year pilot project is to create market opportunities for live beef and bison commodities that are produced using climate-smart practices.
