Biography

Dr. Meendering is a professor within the School of Health and Consumer Sciences. She serves as the program director of the undergraduate exercise science program and the faculty advisor for the Exercise Science Club. She teaches in both the undergraduate exercise science and the graduate nutrition and exercise science programs. Her research focuses on physical activity promotion through policy, systems and environmental change. Her recent work has focused on building school wellness coalitions, establishing quality written policies, improving the degree of policy implementation, and raising community awareness of school wellness efforts to foster collaboration with community stakeholders in accordance with the whole school, whole community, whole child model.
