The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science building opened in the spring of 2009, with only the east wing complete. Construction on the west wing began in the fall of 2010 and was completed in May 2012. The building now houses the entire department, with space for offices, classrooms and laboratories, in addition to space dedicated to research and development of new technologies.

Upon its completion, the building was renamed Daktronics Engineering Hall.
