Ness School of Management and Economics

The Ness School of Management and Economics offers students a high-quality education and excellent job placement opportunities. Our 30 full-time faculty members teach a broad range of courses in economics and related business disciplines, including finance, accounting, entrepreneurship, strategic management and marketing. 

We conduct research in economics (applied micro- and macroeconomics, money and banking and policy analysis), agricultural economics and agribusiness (agricultural marketing and trade, farm and ranch management, land valuation, agricultural policy and rural development and natural resources/environmental issues) and business economics (entrepreneurship, finance, management and marketing) and we provide extension, outreach and general service programs in economics, management and taxation.

With loud enthusiasm often reserved for athletic events, students, faculty and staff from South Dakota State University’s agricultural programs showed up in full force to welcome a live television taping of “AgDay College Roadshow” Oct. 30 on the Ƶ campus.

South Dakota State honors newest endowment holders

South Dakota State University recently paid tribute to the university’s newest endowment holders. The third annual University Leadership Honors investiture ceremony — honoring six holders of endowed positions across three different colleges and Ƶ Athletics — was held Sept. 19 in Founders Recital Hall in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

Ƶ’S Ness School to offer accounting major

The Ness School of Management and Economics at South Dakota State University will now offer both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in accounting following the program’s approval by the South Dakota Board of Regents.
