The South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions is nationally recognized for excellence in preparing students to provide high quality patient-centered care. Our academic programs provide a student-centered education in state-of-the-art facilities. Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of outstanding learning experiences including experiential education, inter-professional education, simulation and student organization activities.

In the area of research, the college features a vast array of projects. Research teams led by faculty are making progress on projects that can enhance the health and well-being of people around the world. The college’s growing research portfolio includes cancer treatment, unique drug delivery systems, addiction to drugs and alcohol, cardiovascular health, vaccine technology and inter-professional collaborative care.

Faculty and recent graduates from the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions published six manuscripts over the summer months.

³ÉÈËÊÓƵ shatters enrollment records, climbs to more than 12,000 students

A record first-year class and record retention moved enrollment at South Dakota State University to 12,065 students for the fall 2024 semester, the highest enrollment at ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ since 2018. Enrollment figures were released earlier today by the South Dakota Board of Regents.

Incentives available for new respiratory therapists in South Dakota

There is currently a shortage of respiratory therapists in the nation, including in South Dakota. The profession is projected to grow 14% from 2021, according to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics. To combat this shortage, each year, South Dakota State University and the health systems in South Dakota offer a variety of incentives for new and in-training respiratory therapists.
