Committee Chair Responsibilities
  1. Review the bylaws for your committee to understand the purpose and responsibility of the committee;
  2. Use the committee minute template to prepare the agenda for each meeting and distribute the agenda at least 48 hours ahead of the meeting to the members;
  3. The chair-elect is elected from the committee membership in the spring every other year and serves in this capacity with the chair for one academic year. The chair-elect assumes the role of chair the next academic year and serves for two years;
  4. Establish dates and times for the committee meetings for the semester, and establish a rotating recorder for each of the meetings; and
  5. Invite new faculty members to attend by sending a welcome message with a brief description of the function of the committee (new faculty listed at the bottom of this document.
