成人视频 Community 鈥

A warm fall day greets us after a beautiful weekend. Jane and I attended India Night last evening and enjoyed eating Indian food and watching some amazing performances showcasing traditional dances and songs. More than 700 people attended, making it one of, if not the largest international event in Brookings.

It was wonderful to see the interaction between our faculty from India and our students during the evening and the importance those relationships have on helping our international students adjust to a new country.

As I shared in my remarks last night, it not only takes courage to leave your home country and move halfway around the world to attend college, but we also must have a support system to make that transition possible. Many individuals at 成人视频 are involved in that effort, and I thank you for everything. Last night was a celebration of those efforts.

This week there will be several other events on our campus, including the Donald Montileaux Artist in Residence presentation. Montileaux was the artist who designed much of what is on display in the American Indian Student Center. He will speak about his experience as an Indigenous artist, Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the South Dakota Art Museum. It will be a wonderful opportunity to engage with Montileaux and learn more about his work. He will also be involved in other activities on campus that are included below.

It will be a busy week on campus with our intercollegiate athletics teams competing at home. That includes the football game against South Dakota, Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium. The game time was set by ESPN, who will be here to broadcast the game nationally.

Prior to that, the undefeated Jackrabbits volleyball team will host South Dakota Tuesday at 7 p.m., and Denver, Saturday at 1 p.m. Soccer continues its quest for a Summit League Conference championship when it hosts Denver, Thursday at 6 p.m., and Oral Roberts, Sunday at 1 p.m.

Finally, Brookings Area United Way is in the midst of its annual fundraising campaign. South Dakota State University has a tradition of supporting United Way and helping to raise funds to help agencies that address the daily needs of children, families, seniors and 成人视频 students. More than 50 agencies in Brookings County have been supported by the annual campaign.

Additional information about the campaign and how to get involved is below. I hope you can consider providing a gift. .

Thank you for everything you do to make 成人视频 a premier university. Please have a wonderful week and I hope to see you around campus.

Go Jacks!

Sincerely,

Barry H. Dunn, President

Above and Beyond

Above and Beyond recognizes individuals and groups of South Dakota State University employees, faculty and students for individual and team efforts that go Above and Beyond to make the campus community a better place. This week we recognize members of the 2024 Hobo Day Committee and others who made Hobo Day a success.

Hobo Week is a special time of year for the university. The 18 members of the Hobo Day Committee worked to plan events throughout the week and keep the tradition going.

Overall event attendance was up this year with over 770 students participating in Bum-a-Meal and nearly 800 students and community members attending Rally at the Rails.

The committee was able to adapt to challenges such as the burn ban in Brookings County and move the Bum Fire indoors, where over 300 students attended.

For the Hobo Day Parade, over 55 volunteers helped make the event a success.
